Have just purchased a Holden Colorado 7 Trailblazer, and was wondering if any one else has, and where they put a portable fridge?
I have the run of the mill Waeco 50L fridge, and in my previous car it was easy (a ute), just bolt a fridge slide onto a false floor in the tub and there you go!
But now I have a wagon, things are a bit different.
it will fit between the tailgate and the last row of seats sideways and the power socket is rated to run a fridge
otherwise you fold one of the 3rd row seats down and sit it there

But with my Patrol. I removed the third set (in garage from second day out of showrooms).
Seat behind drivers removed.
then Timber base made up, Firstly the 50, then 80 ltr Waeco fitted there.
Open side door, fridge lid up. All accessible. easy.
With socket set and screwdrivers, Fire ext etc under.
and still a comfortable three seater for us and the cat.
For 14 and a bit yrs.
Tinny on roof. Outboard. tank tools etc in rear. 3.2 ton smack on.
Those seats and 30ltrs of juice from empty second tank
give a LOT of extra carrying weight freedom. Just fill tank when needed.
Main gave near 560km's with van on. (away from hills)
by itself.
Hi Brian,
I believe that Drifta do a false floor suitable for the Colorado. I'm nowhere near 100% on that though... Could be worth a phone call though as their website (like many) are not always up to date. Gives you something to secure the fridge or slide to, but which itself installs using factory hard points.
Don't wish to be a wet blanket here but if you remove the seats and put your fridge in there it would no longer be a 5 seater and the rego would be wrong as to seating capacity would this make it unroadworthy and possibly un insured ?
Just wondering
Woody

Thanks to everyone for the replies, and yes, some very good suggestions and points!!
Woody n Sue I had thought about removing the rear seats, as it is a 7 seater, (the only way you can buy it if you want a wagon)and really we only need two, although I guess 5 would be handy at times with the grandchild... I hadn't thought about the legality of it though!
Macka17 Some good ideas there as well.
ants_oz thanks for that idea, I will check the website. And 2weis, good to know that the acc socket can handle a fridge, but when I decide what I will do with a second battery, I will probably run an Anderson plug into the back.
Great info, thanks!!
Brian
Removing a seat is fine, its only if you add one that it becomes a prolem. You can remove all but the drivers seat and still be legal, just cant take anyone else with you..... maybe I should do that, missus would have to stay at home.
