Truma water heater problem

I have a gas/electric Truma water heater that works fine most of the time. The only problem I have with it is on a windy day the flame gets blown out constantly. Does anyone else have this problem? I was thinking of designing a wind deflector that I could clip onto the unit where the dust cowl fits. Any thoughts?

Spike no I don't but have not had that much experience with this caravan having a Truma water heater, the few times I have run it been no prblem

More information would assist size, model and roughly the year would help tracing your problem.

We would like to help and I for one will be following for the future if the issue comes to light with my Truma.

It might be wise to check your gas regulator and gas jet for a very small blockage

You can check the jet by undoing the gas line near the burner and sucking back on it

Spike,
Yes, I have had the same problem, it depends on the wind direction and strength. I solved it by fashioning a temporary wind shield out of cardboard and taped it around the vent, it did the job at the time. I had the same problem with the fridge, and the same solution worked. That was about a year ago, and I haven't needed to do it again.
