after a few hiccups we r off. We left brisbane end december and went to the woodford folk festival with our family n friends.
The first freecamp of our journey was at delvene just south of warwick. Only stayed the night.
then to the next free camp bendemeer. We parked behind a caravan that had kids bikes. Got our the car n said hello to the lady n said "i know u" n she said the same to me. Turns out we met before. Small world. Bendemeer is a lovely spot beside the river. People were swimming.
We also freecamped at hay on the river. There were a lot of vans n tents there.
Mildura was 41 degrees. but we stayed in a caravan pk. Thank goodness for that.
echuca was beautiful. Loved watching the paddle steamers going up the river. We freecamped there as well on a river.
We moved on to greens lake where we met glenelg, dougwe, tony n bev n some others. Sorry i forgot the names. Only had 1 hot day , the rest were beautiful. One of the funniest things was seeing two hats in the water n on closer inspection i saw two heads. Glenelg n dougwe were having a dip. seeing the thong tree was on my bucket list n i was not disappointed. Sitting back in my chair with an ice cold drink watching the skiers n boats going in n out the water was very relaxing And they even had camels rides.
the grampians were beautiful. Has the best hot bread shop there. The pies, sausage rolls n apples cut up n wrapped in shortbread n topped with white icing were really yummy. Strop had a homemade wagon wheel. Would have liked to have an ice cream from the ice cream shop but the line up was right outside the shop. Called in n stayed with karen n steve on their farm. What a great couple. Your son is a credit to u both.
stayed at the scout grounds at timboon and seen the top end of the great ocean road. Had morning tea with troupo Who shouted us morning tea. Thanks troupo.
hay bales n cows n lots of them everywhere we have been.
we r in geelong n yesterday we went into melbourne for a train ride N tram ride n a look around.
Today strop is out watching the womens great ocean road, road race. Heard the helicopters so they must be close.
Hopefully the photos r right.
Stay happy, stay tuned For next month.

I would like to read more blogs from members. Dougwe does it well once a month. Think I might do the same when I travel next winter. If Dougwe doesn't mind me copying him.

Hi msg, great idea. I decided to stay loyal to the site n only write exclusively on here.
Just make sure you find a good printer.
My printer said they are going to double the cost next month. Too late for the January Update cos that is already with them.

Good read and pics Rocket. I have trouble with pics too. They are right way up when you go to put them in and then some gremlin turns them around for fun!
Thanks Rocket. Haven't been down that way - Great Ocean Road area in a long time. Good to know where you camped too. Always love to see photos as well.
