UPDATE ON MEET UP - RAPID BAY SA

Update on Rapid Bay SA meet up.

Will be there on 12th February Sunday.

Should be nice and quiet and hope to catch some nice squid for dinner!

Helen

How long are you planning to be there, Helen?

I won't be there in that period of time. I reckon at a glance I'm 800k away still. I probably average 200klm a week lol.
I also have to go into another town some time and get some mirrors fitted. So I imagine it'll still be end of Feb until I'm within cooee of that area - and a call last night might see me backtracking by 500klm yet.

One day at a time.

Not sure Joe, probably a week or so.  If the weather is good, stay longer.

Great, I'll be in Murray Bridge for most of next week so should be over your way around the 15th or so. Looking forward to the meet-up.

I hope it is OK if I join you. My daughters have been trying to convince me to continue on my own for a while, but I have always travelled with my wife and am not sure I am up to going it alone yet. I thought this might be a good way to try the solo travelling. Sort of put my toe in the water.
Regards
Phil

Looks like I'll be a day visitor, as I changed things to suit the original timing. Anyway see what happens.  Baz

Hi  Phil, you are very welcome, anyone is.  No pressures, hopefully not too hot.

There are a lot of us solo's who have lost their partner and have lost their confidence also.

Come along and get to talk with other people about their travels and where to go etc.

Thanks John,  It only takes two for a meet up but maybe we will meet other travellers, have been there before and always someone to have a yarn with.

I will continue with the meet ups whatever happens.  Hope to be going Adel - Qld in April.

Helen

Helen I have arrived, located almost opposite Philip (Drifters). Whereabouts are you and what type of vehicle are you driving?

 Helen

if you are looking for another solo traveller when travelling from Adelaide to Queensland, let me know.

You can PM me again, or indicate if you want me to SMS to the mobile number you left for me in a previous PM.

I would like to do that trip too.

Pamela

Thanks for organising the meet up Helen. pity you had some electrical issues Joe and I spent some happy hours (why stop at one) it was very entertaining watching novices erect tents one took over 3 hours.
All in all a very relaxing time.
Phil

And thanks from me too, Helen. Was great to meet another couple of GNs. Rapid Bay is a great spot and good value at $7 per night. The tent-erecting entertainment was a bonus, even if I could only observe it with one functional eye!

Hi Joe and Philip,

Was a bit of a flop for me, but always 'next time'.

Joe, hope your eye is much better and sorted out.

Maybe catch up again one day.

Helen
