February 2017

hello everyone, hope u all had a good month. Us, we had a ball. Started off by visiting the southern end of the great ocean road. Stopped at a lighthouse n outside my door was a snake. Wow, that was a bit scarey. Moved on to lorne n there in a tree outside the information centre was a koala.

Strop got the train into melbourne and he watched a bicycle race. He even got on tv as a spectator. He was chuffed.

jules said "go to st. kilda" . Get there n there is a gay parade. Going to mardi gra in sydney was on my bucket list so now i have been to a parade i can now cross this off my list. We had a great time.

we were staying at the geelong showgrounds n along came the dog squad. They have lots of young dogs n they were training them in a closed shed. the police allowed strop n i to go in n c them being trained. Did not know drugs put up high can b detected by the dogs on the ground  because the smell wafts down. Learn something completely irrelevant every day.

A ride by train into melbourne for a lovely tram ride n a hare krishna lunch. Then off to the sth. Melbourne markets only the tram driver did not say south melbourne markets so we ended up miles away. Never mind, part of the fun. When we did get to the markets we found it closed at 4pm. It was 3.30pm. Anyway, stopped off for a coffee n the coffee shop offered us free cakes. Bonus.

was watching tv in bed. It was raining n the one thing a caravan owner does not want, A drip from above onto my foot. the caravan sprung a leak but was able to b fixed in a few days. Thank goodness it was just a drip. It rained so much i was concerned about the water behind the van. Not to worry though. when it stopped raining it drained away fairly quickly.

Cannot understand the signs on the road. "Powernap now" . There is nowhere to stop n rest Anywhere near these signs.

we were getting mail sent to bunyip post office n we were staying at bunyip rec. grounds. After 3days had not arrived so asked could we stay another night. No. We are booked out. Can we stay with no power Out the way. No.

Moved onto warragul caravan park. One of lovliest places we have stayed. Could only stay one night cos caravan club coming tomorrow. 10am next day we r almost driving out when a caravan pulls up to take our spot. Anyway, mail arrived at bunyip so strop drove back.

arrived at sale showground. A breath of fresh air. welcoming caretaker.

Went out n bought straps for the annexe. Looking good.

went to free bingo here at the greyhounds building. Did not win. Never mind.

We have been watching the roulettes practicing. Very entertaining. Sorry there is not a better photo but whenever i hear them i jump up to take a photo n they r so fast i cannot get them. If u look at photo in between the two trees u can c one.

i guess that's a wrap for this month.

Thanks Rocket. Lovely to hear what you've been up to. The photos are good too and helps to give a better idea what's out there. There is just so much to see and information on camping spots is always welcome. Cheers.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Rocket but I needed a break from the forum so took two weeks off without pay biggrin

Sounds and looks like a good month but I am a bit worried about how excited strop looks with those 2 young brightly coloured, well, I will say 'people' biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Don't let him among the in Sydney parade though as strop in a 'thong' is way too much for the mind to cope with biggrin

Rocket, are you attaching the 2 center yellow straps by wrapping around the awning rafters?

Cheers, John.

Strop in a thong In the sydney parade. Mmmmmm. Somehow, do not think he will b up for that. We had a fantastic day. Our kids gave him that tshirt for christmas for a bit of fun.  How did they know he would need that for the parade.

Happy days Rocket. Good to read. Mr Dunmowin is envious that you got to watch Rouletts practicing.
