we have just installed a dual battery system using an Redarc BCDC and Optima Yellowtop battery. Simple set up but I don't know if we should keep using the battery when we aren't travelling ie in the city. Should we leave the fridge in the vehicle. This has been suggested to us as the thing to do but I'm unsure. Any thoughts appreciated
Better to use than have it sitting at home doing nothing or on a small trickle charger. I use a Baintec powertop gel battery and it has the fridge set up all the time. Power either through car or 120w solar panel on roof.
Nice to put the shopping in or pull out a cold beer when needed

And as Vince said if need throw a charger on to give it a boost. The baintec has a small 5amp charger built in as well. I have found it to be a good battery system.

Bit of an update on this and some more advice sort. Apparently I have installed the the incorrect BCDC charger as in I have installed the Redarc bcdc1225 when it should have been the BCDC 1225lv because the alternator is a Euro compliant one. Does anyone know if this is major problem or just a minor nothing to worry about thing. I am now completely confused.
