Hello all, here it is, finally hot off the press. Eating our way around Australia in February 2017.
As it comes to you we have settled in to a two week house sit in Mackay, followed by another in Townsville, then a bigger one in Cairns. Got to love the tropics in March, April and May!
Hello, what is caching. Sounds interesting. Also, u have stayed at a few good spots on private property. How did u find them. We will head that way next. You r having a great time. Yes, calliope river is exceptional but the idea of a crocodile does not thrill me. always great to b with grandies. Yes, the fridge seal was a must to get replaced. Enjoy.
Always nice to read. Particularly interesting about the midges at Urangan around Hervey Bay. We are heading to Hervey Bay in July for a month staying at the council caravan park at Pialba. We are looking at Hervey Bay as possible retirement area on a few acres around Urangan.
Currently in Tassie at Geeveston you would remember being just South of Hobart and about 10klm South of Huonville. Easy access to Bruny Island.
Remember all those good folk raising issues of the cost of the crossing?? We have been in Tassie since 5th Feb. Our average nightly accomm cost is less than $10- and we have yet to visit a caravan park. At Geeveston it is $5- and when they come around to collect the fees they give you a welcome bag with what is happening in the area.
AND
We have missed all that 40+ temps.
Just thought I would remind you of how good Tassis is from your past travels.

Yes John, the midgies at Urangan really were an issue. If you are thinking about acreage at Urangan, suggest sitting thre for an evening and see what happens. Did not happen at the other end of the bay (Pt Vernon)
As for Tasmania, all I can say is THANKS for the reminder. Yes it was cooler there, and we did love it, but there is another "LOT" of Australia out there to visit
