Thanks for that jules47 we will try our hardest to be there we finish a housesitting job in September so hope the dates work out as would love to come. So kind of people to oopen there homes to us.
Hi Christine and Jeff, come any time the main part of the GT is the long weekend but people will be coming and going for a couple of weeks before and after. We aren't fussed about when people arrive or leave. Just come!!
We farewelled Kiwi-As this morning and have another 2 couples arrive this arvo. Have directed them both to Grey Nomads forum. One couple is from a grey nomad housesitting site that we are on and the other met up with someone down south who gave them our contact details. Neither had heard of this site!!
I put the kettle on at 3.30 and we sat around with beer, wine, cider ,tea and coffee and nibbles and suddenly it was 6pm and we hadn't righted all the wrongs of the world so I guess that means we get to finish off the conversations tomorrow arvo!!
Sounds like you are having way to much fun LOL. September is looking good. Would you believe it, if I've read the roster right I have nightshift on the Friday night "again"
Cathy you will just have to trade or failing that come down with a bug on Wed and will need a couple of days off so you don't pass it on to the rest of your team!! Cant have you driving up here tired.
Brandt,Glad the parts have saved you another head bump. Hope you had a great drive to Kalbarri. See you when you head south again.
Our two lots of travellers are heading off in the morning heading north. They have bumped into each other both when crossing SA and since they have been cruising around the south west so no doubt they will cross paths again before they both get back to the eastern states. Happy hour was lots of travel stories and disasters ,would be still going only one of the little dogs had a pal fart moment and we all had to evacuate the shed!! Sort of expecting another traveller to arrive ...they have lost some days somewhere but they will eventually turn up. The joys of not having to be somewhere at a certain time cos that road looks interesting ,the fish are biting, it is too hot or cold to bother moving on etc. They both commented on how many travellers have told them they MUST book to get into any parks up north and they were all rushing to get there on their appointed date. Both said they weren't too fussed as they prefer to free camp anyway and only stay in parks if it is necessary.
For those coming to the GT Both vans had the newer star shapes tv antenna.. think it is the flat winegard upgrade and they both received all the tv channels so there is hope for those who want to watch telly in their van.
Some people like to watch Home and Away!! Haven't looked to see if it is footy finals weekend for any code. Some people like their footy. But yes you are right..no time to watch tv ..too much socialising to be done without the sightseeing; fireworks; and anything else you want to do.
Had an overnight visit from ruffnut69 on Sunday. Was lovely to put another face to a forum name. Enjoy your travels Colin and Glenda and we will catch up again somewhere.
Well, we are on the way to WA - and the meetup at Seabird - yay!!!! Currently just above Adelaide - leaving next Tuesday to start the westward leg, visit some friends, then we are on the way.
Jules at the speed Billy drives at, you should just about make it by late Sept. He may have to have a couple of days of driving for over an hour a day. Do you think he can manage that?
I expect to be leaving Ceduna at the end of the month (currently in Tumby Bay). Planning to take a few weeks crossing the Nullarbor - my first time so want to make the most of it - before heading over to Seabird. Might even catch up with Jules & Billee along the way.
Joe

Well, we are at Baxter Rest area - and wow - what a difference from two years ago - toilet, dump point, Telstra reception, including internet - good on the Dundas Shire Council.
At least we are in WA now, so we aren't far away - have Joe50 join the group, just out of Ceduna, good times being had by all - see you soon!

We are on our way at last. Left Sydney yesterday and heading west! We should be in Seabird for the GT. Looking forward to meeting all my Grey Nomad friends.
Awesome Margaret and Ron. Enjoy your trip across.
Billy, Jules and Joe are now on the last stretch of the Eyre Highway between Eucla and Norseman and having a great time on their trip.
If we get all who said they are coming arrive we could have at least 25 vans/buses/ campers trailers. Looking forward to meeting up with old and new friends.
Owing to Phils heart sttack the new kitchen etc wont be finished so we will still be in the shed. He isnt allowed to do anything till end of August which is frustrating him no end!! I am sure we will survive this.
Crappy weather here today with thunder, wind and rain. Good excuse to spend the day inside baking and filling the freezer ready for all the cuppas that will be drunk over the GT weeks.
Len is here already and has been put to work. He is in charge of chooks and wood and once this weather buggers off we will start pruning some of the trees.Amazing how much they have grown in 12 months!!
As per previous GTs come when you like, be it early or just for a day trip but please do come and join in.
