Water tank gauge

hi all just wondering if any of you have ever had problems with your water tank gauge . I filled both my water tanks yesterday ,in readiness for our big trip ,both topped up to the brim ,went in the van to check on the gauges ,one said full ,the other empty ,so figuring the pivoting arm inside the tank must be stuck .have been under van ,the fitting is easy to get to but don't want to break it getting it out .have any of you repaired/replaced the pivoting arm at all ,is there much to it ? .Thanks .

Might just need a new battery inside the gauge, CD. I didn't know they had batteries but they sure do, mine anyway. I would have thought they would be wired into the 12v system. I had same problem, changed battery and all good.

Hope that works for you.

Thanks for the input,no replaced batteries not long ago ,I'm finkin its the pivoting arm inside the tank ,could be stuck in the empty position.

You will find most sensors don't have pivoting arms but fixed arms with graduated sensor points along them . Try swapping over at gauges to determine if the problem is gauge or sensor in tank . Hope this makes sense .Cheers

I'm considering fitting gauges to my van. A dealer told me that sometimes the sensor may have to removed for cleaning.

Why mess around, get a Topargee or Futurelec flow meter, accurate as.
