You will see from the classified section that I have a Tekonsha Prodigy 3 for sale.
Changed over Landcruisers Dec last year and removed the brake controller from the traded cruiser only to find the new cruiser has air bag where the unit would be located. Consequently have installed Red Arc at additional cost of $300-.
I have had no offers and more than happy to give you my old Prodigy 3 as it is taking up space in our van. (We are full time on the road). Only problem is that we are touring Tassie and will not be back on the main land until May.
Send me a PM if you are interested.
There are virtually 000's of Queenslanders in Tassie at the moment
How nice was that - a very generous offer, JohnR - that is what life is all about, eh - being a nice person, and helping friends out. I think you deserve this medal -

Hi, All. I've got a primus IQ controller, and I'm struggling to get the adjustment right when I use it on my single axle Jayco 17.
I have used it for a few years on a horse trailer. That trailer has 2 axles but only one axle has brakes. I am used to setting it according to the instructions: you know: drive slowly, push the brakes fully on, etc etc. That's been fine with the horse float, and the reading has been around 6.5 depending on how many horses are in the float, or empty, etc. But when I do it with the Jayco single axle, I come up with a reading of say 11. That's sort of fine, but when I am moving slowly, when I touch the footbrake the trailer brakes come on hard and jerky. If I back off the controller to a reading of say 8, it all feels fine. But it's not as per the instructions, and I suspect that I'll only get about 2/3rds of the optimum braking in a crash stop.
Hi jules, I also have the Redarc it works fine I find that the best setting for me is 4 when I'm pulling around 2.7T. More than that its a bit too harsh and the tug's nose can dip or the van's wheels can lock when coming to a complete stop, set on less the load will tend to push the car and it takes a bit further to pull up. They probably all work the same just a matter of playing with the settings based on the weight that you're towing at the time.
