Diesel Fuel/Filters/Foam.


All these extra fancy filters are fine.

But I reckon.
Changing a $37 fuel filter every oil change (10k_)
Is better than going longer. and hoping the dual
may do a better job.

You KNOW how it's doing.

YES I get a nice clean white filter to throw away
every time so far..

But happily do it.
ONE day. It may not be.

Have you priced 4 modern injectors or fuel pump lately.

It's a house mortgage job.
I'd hate to be doing it to a V8.

I can shed some light on the original post with regards frothing.
Here in WA, BP fuel is refined here, in WA, Kewdale to be precise.
Caltex, shell, puma and all others are shipped into Coogee from Singapore.
The non BP fuels have more sulphur and other chemicals added to help deal with the possibility of salt contamination during transit.
I work for a large company who delivers the fuels and we also cart the crude into Kwinana which is then piped underground into Kewdale.
It is commonly said that Australian fuel in general is of a poorer quality than other contries around the world. Sad realy as alot of the crude/LNG is from the NW shelf.
Hope this info helps as it intrigued me when i asked the question.

New vehicles manufactured after 1 January 2016 and sold to an EU member country must meet the new Euro/ECE design standards.

Some of these standards you know of such as banning the expensive and ineffective AdBlue in favour of DPFs that use the turbo to do a high temp burn, but lesser known is the  requirement for fuel filters to be 2micron and designed to last at least 80,000km (usually changed at the 60,000km service). With this in mind, fitting aftermarket fuel filters to new diesels is pointless.
