Changing oil in a modern diesel


If you do this on a 5 cylinder Mazda or ford you will have problems when you drain the oil on these you need to replace the new oil virtually straight away or you will have problems De be is correct didn't read all the posts

I bought one of those 3 legged rotary clamping things for filters yrs ago.
for the idiotic ones where you can only get at base.

Fit on ext socket bar.
Up to filter push up
otate.
it clamps filter and winds it off.
Even when on tight.

I broke through the side of one filter on mates missus Toyota once
it was on that tight.
Really work well, They do. But not for large dia filters.
Bummer.

yes sometimes i have had to do the screwdriver trick being a mechanic however some people comment about things the havent had to deal with . so we are not idiot,s in these situations

Imo no one is an idiot if your having a go !! But sheesh some times you feel like venting at someone or something when they are so freagan hard to get off !! I find some brands have cheap seals that tend to valconise .. Had that issue with some ILoad vans . Yep used the cold chisel . Screw driver trick on top join . Just don't let these things beat you !! Lol
