Hot water outlet on the caravan literally blew off yesterday. Found a plumber and a new fitting. It was brass not plastic so was confident it would be strong enough . Fitted it and bingo had hot water again. But after a shower today the hot water outlet blew off again !! Is there a thermostat somewhere ? With the force it blew I'm assuming it must be getting too hot ?? The van is a 2012 Roadstar Safari Tamer. (and no instruction manual !) Now currently no water till it's fixed !!

Theres usually a tempering valve underneith the van near the shower/on suit. This controls the on suit temp only, not the kitchen sink.
When you say 'outlet' what is it your refering to exactly?
Hope this helps and welcome to the forum.

Some on here are interested for when little things go wrong. Like me
Just the other week I hooked up to mains pressure at a caravan park to my surprise I had less water at the shower head then when I used the caravan 12 volt pump.
Fault was a jamed mains water pressure reducing valve, fixed by replacing said.
I have only used the caravan supply before and the van is only new to me 3 months ago.
Now my question to you is this blowing apart happening while hooked to mains pressure?
Possible fix, go to big green shed and buy in the irrigation section for about $10 a black pressure reducing valve used in home irragation to screw onto the tap before screwing on your hose. I think my one is 300kpa, it is designed to reduce the pressure.
But if your hot water is blowing the fitting apart while using the shower with the 12 volt pump forget what I have said.
Hi thanks for you reply. Will look in the morning. Have now switched off the power and external water supply and am using the onboard water, The ouput hose is the one coming out the top of tank carrying the hot water to the shower and sink in the en suite.

Reading your reply, I think its an over pressure mains water supply.
Can you elaborate how the hose is blowing off?
Typical van plumbing is PE tubing and John Guest fittings. Are the fittings failing or the tube?
Is there little "C" locks in the fitting heads?
Does your HWS have a pressure relief valve on the tank?
I would think this should open before anything else does/blows.
Ours is a suburban HWS and on the outside of the van in the cover plate is a pressure relief that can be manually operated, its used to discharge the pressure from the tank when changing the anode.
Id be checking this as it seems to me not to be working and allowing excessive pressure build up in tank.
Hope this helps.

I'd check the pressure relief valve as a matter of urgency. Ours trickles a very small amount out each time it heats from cold and I open it fully manually regularly to ensure its free to operate and not seized shut.
Also as stated above check if John Guest hose is correct size and has c clip in it ASAP.
