Hi all. Just thought id share an idea i worked with lately.
I recently fitted a new awning to my 17ft van due to sun damage. The first 4/5 inches of material coming off of van had delaminated and was all crispy, i thought one good gust and itll be gone...
Along with the awning i purchased a new ally track for awning to slide into but decided not to use it for that.
I industrial double sided taped it directly above the existing track and used it to house a protective cover for the awning when not in use, thus not drilling any holes.
The cover i used was the flap of material off of the old awning including the sewen in pipe to secure in the new track slide, plus 1/2 inch to tidy up the finish.
I then secured 4 lashing hooks to the cover that are held down with the existing washing line i have fixed between the two awning uprights.
I hope the pictures do the job justice!!!!
Kezngaz.
I hope

Hi possum3, thanks for the compliment!! The new fabric was actually wider than the old so i had to extend it at the front. I velcroed it together for now. If it withstands the wind when driving i can easyly try another way with ease.
Cheers kezngaz.

Gary I like the Velcro I think I will glue on some all along to "lock" the protective flap down when travelling rather than mounting hook/eyes - as I don't want to drill into awning arms.
