I have Clearview on my Collie and no problem at all. I think Ford will tell you anything because it is not their product. Have a chat to Clearview. I find them great to deal with.
I had a problem where the R/H indictaor on the Clearview stopped working so took the car to them as I could at the time and they found a short on the car side of the connector. No charge. Took the car back to Holden and they said not their mirror and would charge. NO, NO WAY said I, it is on the car side of things and nothing to do with Clearview. Stood my ground. They sorted the problem Free of charge and were not happy campers at all. Too bad.
I only just recently had what I thought was a noise up front and turned out to be tyres so had them rotated and a front end alignment and much betterer.
I know what you are saying about folding in the mirror etc but it could be something else, just a thought.

Hi Col
You could get some child's play dough and use small pieces to try to isolate where the whistle is coming from.
Try placing pieces of it on all the gaps in the vicinity of the mirror and the area where it mounts on.
If the whistle stops when it is placed in a particular area you then may do what Doug did and insist the dealer fix the problem if it has nothing to do with the Clearview Mirror.

Another thought is that my Clearviews have a rubber gasket between the surfaces where the mirror mounts to the vehicle .
Just check that the gasket is in place.
I know when I fitted mine I had trouble getting the gasket into the correct position.
Maybe even the installer neglected to fit it.

I was thinking,If you don't have the problem mentioned above
why not try to close the gap between the 2 bars of the mirror with some 100 mile tape to see if it is still there ?
Just an tough I can be completely wrong
