Mirrors???

Kath, if you pop into the 'General' section of this great forum there is the very same question in the last few days with replies. It has also been discussed many, many times so do a search up in the thick blue line above.

Me, I would never leave home without my 'Clearview' mirrors that are on my tug. A camera fitted the rear of my aluminium tent makes for heaps of vision all round.

Bit big and clumsy on Utes Doug??.
I was looking at one coupla weeks ago.
Looked real "look at me"..

Mate had some on his 100 ser. but took them off.
Too much when not towing. even in.

Plus us with manual mirrors. No go.

They so big when nothing on rear.
Apart from pricing $700+. plus Fitting.

I use the mount on Door units. as good coverage.
"removable" when not in use.
Not stuck with them hanging off side of car, 24\7.

Plus, around $120\150 for good ones.

On Patrols I had the strap onto existing mirrors for over 30 yrs.
Only ever lost one.
Dumb Pr--k came too close.

I'd feel a right dork driving round with them on and no van behind.

I have Clearviews and they do cost a bit however as Doug said they are foolproof and are there when you need them.
I find that if I am in a parking spot that is designed by a supermarket car park civil engineer then I just fold mine in while my car is parked there.
Most of the time you just leave them in the non towing position.

Agree with Dougwe and well worth the expense, particularly with lower panoramic mirror which gives that greater view!

Clear Views every time
Tried the rest now I have the best !

FYI go to Clear view web site and check out the second hand ones
I got mine second hand for $400 after a bit of negotiation that was including postage from Perth to NSW

Thanks for the responses re mirrors! Unfortunately they don't make Clearview for my vehicle-Mazda CX5! I rang the company & begged! No go!

Clearview mirrors are available for my 80 series but having seen them on numerous other vehicles I reckon I'd feel like a knob driving around with them sticking out like Wingnut's ears even in the retracted position. No offence to anyone who carries the nickname "Wingnut".

These are the ones I am still using www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Towing-Mirror-Easy-Fit-2-Pack/164900 but it seems they are sold out at the moment I leave the clamp section on at all times and just slide mirrors in or out when not towing van.

Just a note here, what ever mirrors you get, remember that some "clip on's" can, over time ruin the original mounted mirror, vibration etc., the cost of the original mirror because of all the fancy internals, will cost way more than say "Clear Views".
