So many to choose from so many different prices its hurting my head can any one out there let me know of a good brand of batteries to by I require 2 x 105 AMH
When comparing batteries compare the weights for the similar size batteries. The lighter weight batteries will not produce the figures the manufacturers claim. The heavier ones will all be OK.

AC Delco is often supplied by the manufacturer due to the price structure. My opinion is that they are at the bottom of the food chain. As mentioned weight can be a factor when making comparisons. There are plenty of excellent AGM sealed units on the market and Full River is a trusted name.Check out prices on the internet as there are plenty to choose from. Be vary if you are putting them in the front boot of the van as they are likely to weigh 30 to 35kg each.
We have two AC Delco batteries as our "house" batteries, and have had them for going on seven years, they are used every single day, we have 200 watts/volts/whatever on the roof, all still going very well, we have never let them get below 12.5 on the gauge - I think this is why the have lasted so long.

Hmm.
I just threw away an ACD. 900cca. after 2 yrs. daily use.
Second. Not good version of.
Exide Extremes always gave me near 5 yrs in car, 6 to 7 on solar in yachts.
I have recently bought a coupla GIANT AGM's for van 85a.(small van)
They have decent reviews. and fair pricing.
ALSO. After doing a bit of searching on net. Have replaced that ACDelco.
with a Chinese "SUNSTONE" (SSS). Spiral Wound 85a in my D-Max.
A copy of the Aust. H.Duty Spiral wounds.(expensive things)
Weighs a bloody ton.
SOlid as. and they have a fair review in States.
Good pricing too on EBAY. Registered (Sydney) dealer.
Spins my 3 ltr over like a clockwork watch. Buzzzzzzzzz.
If you avoid the very cheap batteries and the lightweight ones as Peter said you will probably be happy. I have found that keeping them well charged is the most important influence on how many cycles I can expect to get. I try to maintain a level above 12.2V measured at the batteries.

Try to keep them above 12.4 or 5 when drained to Max. 12.2 is around 3\4 empty or less. I set up to never go below 12.5v, by dawn.
And.Apart from those ACDelco's.
Normally get good longevity from them.
Wet Cells. I've used Exide Extremes for around 30 yrs. Yachts cars and vans. Never had a bad one. and never less than 5 yrs usage. Usually 6 to 7 on Yachts and vans with Solar. so on float, .( Last 12 yrs or so on cars too.)

The company below, who I have not dealt with (friends on another forum recommend him will also ship around Oz) has some interesting information, suggest you look into the section on " Important must read" re battery weight., something that I will consider prior to my next purchase.
There are a number of Australian businesses which import Chinese batteries and "own label" them. These batteries may be good quality or they may be rubbish. They may be from supplier X this year and supplier Y next year - they may alternate between good and bad quality - the end user has no way of knowing.
The above supplier quotes AS4029.2 suggesting it mandates a 20Ah discharge rate for capacity calculations - it does not. It "recommends" in 3.1.2 20Ah as the lowest discharge rate.
I dislike the phrase "You get what you pay for" but with lead acid batteries the maxim "You don't get what you don't pay for" is very apt.
Unless I had detailed knowledge of an own brand battery I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole - the brand names have a reputation to lose - Mr Wungs Battery Manufacturing Company does not.

These Chinese? SS SunStone battery's are locally dealt through LANPLUS.
With 12 mth AUSTRALIAN warranty?.
A good solid copy of those Rotary wound call Aust Battery. Plus. they AGM. Use in any position.
$213 del. For an 850cca Universal, Start\long life AGM. battery
is a good deal for my 3 ltr D-Max I reckon.
Time will tell hey.
I've been using those Giant AGM for a few yrs now.
So far. So good. Decent reviews.
I've also had BAD Full Rivers too 110a units, x 2. on solar in van.
One died 90% (2.8v) and dragged other down with it.
I've heard of a few others going that way too.
why not a single 200 AH battery. I put a cheapy Chinese 200AH battery in a Jayco Swift a few years ago, worked great and I never had any problems with it. Weight is key, the heavier the battery the thicker the plates. I swapped to a single years ago, got sick of replacing them all the time.
Trouble is that most are sailing that close to the wind. Weight wise.
an empty matchbox could tip them over. Almost.
I Have that rotary wound under bonnet.
with 2 NZ70Z ex cars, that still hold their load. in tray.
On both Alternator, AC Charger. and solar on ute roof\in van.
Coupla Andersons under rear of tub.
Gives me 170a plus another there if necessary.
Seems to be I'm collecting things nowadays hey. Magpie.
(Used to be women 20\30 yrs ago,
Marriage fixed that toot quick.)
MOST vanners are sailing close to wind. WEIGHT wise.
and have troubles with extra weight and staying within the law.
IE Can't legally carry 2 x 110 or 1 x 200.
I was just saying that I had installed my prev mentioned Spiral wound AGM Chinese. Under my bonnet.
and lastly
I had 2 x Older but holding loads. NZ70Z's in tray as well as another spare (Irrelevant really)
and that I used to. and do collect things.
Also irrelevant.
Hi all.
I'm six months late for this post but I have to tell that I bought 6x245AH Fullriver bank of batteries 10 days ago.
I can not wait to get my dirty little hands on the 735 usable amps.
I could not live with a 100 or 200 amps. Got too many gadgets.
btw: price was a bit steep . . . $240 each including transport.
