Reducing solar loading

Went through other sub-fora and found nothing on reducing solar loading. We just purchased and trialed an aluminized open weave sail screen netting. We only got a 8' x 7' section to cover the rear of our 34' fifth wheel (11 m). It greatly reduced solar loading and probably reduced internal temperature by 3 or 4 degrees centigrade. We did not have to use air conditioning (we were "camped" at 2300 metres) We plan to buy two more sections of 8' x 12' for the slides on the 5th wheel. Should like to know if others have utilized similar materials for this purpose. Googled the subject and found only our postings except for those that used similar at Burning Man in Death Valley

Just googled Aluminet in Australia and found a number of suppliers. Below is one of these

As expected, several of the Australian suppliers note that this material can be used for caravans. None of the US on-line sites mention their use for caravans, only for gardening and dog runs. Australia seems way ahead of US caravaners in a lot of things: solar, LFP, and now this. I discussed this on a couple of fora I belong and no one had ever heard of the stuff except at Burning Man, as noted previously

We were in Galapagos several years ago and saw a guy wearing a suit made of this stuff. It was probably effective for him but the group from our boat thought it looked like something out of a science-fiction movie.

As noted in our first post, we bought a 8' x 7' section. The Aussie Aluminet is 3..6 x 2 m. If you get some, we should like to know what you think of it.

The sites showing Aluminet at Burning Man (Buning Man is an annual gathering that takes place at Black Rock Citya temporary city erected in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada. Wikipedia - where the temperatures may be well above 110 F, 44 C - not for us) have the Aluminet just dumped over the vehicles. Make our cludge look like a finely crafted piece of work.

Life as a caravaner is fairly good in western US: Yucatan coast in southern Mexico for winter and Canada or mountain West for summer as we are "Goldilockers" as in ".not to hot and not to cold, just right! A meteorologist put out a map of US and Canada where the temperature should be right at 70 (21C) for the entire year. We have been most of the places and western US is sufficient
