Where would you keep the battery in your motorhome, Aus-Kiwi? Lithium is expensive but this will be through the roof!
James Bond says "Diamonds are forever" but radioactivity is there too!

Apparently it uses up the radiation ? I'm well prepared to give others the trial time though !! I was talking to a nuke specialist while seeing my bro in Chicago . He said he could Easy see a time where home will have "there own" nuke power plant . Said the nuke rods only need to be the size of a golf ball. Small enough to cool and control etc.

Here's another of the vast number of publications on the subject.  It has the same info in the first bit.  Lots of cut & paste going on these days.

Who knows what the future sources of energy will be.

From the researchers ...

"Diamond-age" of power generation as nuclear batteries developed:
http://www.bristol.ac.uk/cabot/news/2016/diamond-battery.html

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_battery

Its power density will be far lower than that of conventional chemical batteries, restricting its use to extremely low-power electrical devices.

In initial prototypes, nickel-63 has been used as the radioactive source for the diamond.

    Voltage -- 2 V estimated (Ni-63 1.9 V measured).
Energy -- 15.8 MJ over first 5,000 years, or total of 4.4 kWh.
    Prototype size -- 10 mm x 10 mm x 0.5 mm (plus electrodes).
Temperature -- physically stable at 750C.

These specs imply that a Ni-63 "coin cell" battery would be producing only 50uA at 2V over 5000 years. The specs say nothing about internal resistance, so who knows what happens under load.

    ((15.8 MJ) per (5000 years)) / (2 volts) = 50 microamperes

YOU play KIWI.

I'LL watch.

From a great distance thank you chuckle.

I was involved with that chit in the '50\'60'd thank you.

Just walking round in workshops. camp. Watching your badge change colour,
Scared the chit out of me.

We all suffered. Bone Cancer mostly......

Under controlled situations. YES.
As long as this li'l black duck ain't at the controls though.

It IS The power supply of the future.
But needs more controlling. Shielding.
and a capacity of shooting the spent materials out of our atmosphere completely.

Anywhere inside our oxygen belt is TOOOOO close thank you..

It WILL kill 100% the population if left for too long. Either by contamination (Insideously.)
Or a coupla big bangs. with the following residual others being let off to.

It'll only ever take one. Human reactions will take care of the rest.

I'm just glad we've had our time. It's the kids and grandkids I feel for.
With the maniacs the world is letting loose.
