where to stay cheaply over Xmas holidays

Hi all

We've been on road for 5 months now and prefer to stay in caravan parks.  However we're worried that over the Xmas period the rates will be excessive.  Anyone have any suggestions for a cheap park in NSW or Victoria please?

Head inland away from the coast and there are many towns where you can stop at the local showgrounds for $15 - $20 pn with power.

Welcome to the gang debandy, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I agree that heading inland a little could find cheaper and nice CVP and also agree to check out Showgrounds. I prefer to stay in Showgorunds to CVP if I need that sort of place to leave the TeePee while exploring. Sometimes Showgrounds are not available though.

Keep Safe on the roads and out there.

A warm welcome from me also, debandy

I can not answer your question, as I do not usually stay in caravan parks

As others have already said, wherever the crowds go for the Christmas holidays, will be more expensive

You will have to go inland to a more quieter spot, for the cheaper rates

G'dayDebandy and welcome to the forum.  Don't forget to try the two ongoing games here - 'Who is This' in the 'I Digress' section and 'Pick this Place' in the 'General' Section - a great source to find new places to visit.  Usual info is to watch AND check weights of Tug and Van.  I'm based in WA so can't help on your request at all - sorry :)
