Found this Yank site called "RV budget and expenses - what does it cost to RV full-time?"
It gives a good comprehensive insight into the costs of free camping versus caravan parks plus full time on the road and drills right down to just how much it all costs.
There are some good links at this site as well which shows the Yanks are a lot like us.

or overnighters at any HUGE truck stop with ALL facilities.
THEY AMAZING in relation to what we got.

Get WELL out of sight ange.
I'll study the post when I've got a bit of free time.
For some years I have been looking at several utube 'sites' by US Free campers. Some interesting stuff. I often see many of their 'popular' free camps that are typically barren flat gravel or stony paddocks with absolutely no visual appeal. Large bitumen lots in shopping centres or industrial areas seem popular too. Not places that I would enjoy, but it seems quite OK to them. Perhaps not representative.
I look at British Caravan forums too and not impressed with their lot either.
ROO?????? YUK.
After you shot a few and run knife down backbone. FULL of worms. NO thank you.
I've shot thousands. We just dug pits, kept 20\30\40 for tags.
and the other 3 or 4 hundred PER PADDOCK. in the pit. Gov't had absolutely NO idea.

Jumping steak is great.
Aussie Paul,
I too love roo meat and wild pig. Always checked meat for worms & organs for disease.
I shot the other thousands or so that Macca missed. But only those that were right for eating. LOL.
When I hear of people having their fire arms stolen I can not help thinking that they most likely let other people know what they had and hence became a target.
Certainly I know of several people that fall into this category. If you carry fire arms then keep it to your self.

I gave away my last firearm during the current Qld Amnesty. I had hung on to it for sentimental reasons. It was a very old single shot bolt action Winchester .22 . I can't remember ever having fired it.
The new owner has an amazing collection of Winchester lever actions, including some special models still in their factory packaging & most never fired. He will add mine to his list of registered rifles ready for the next inspection. Of course he has several scoped up hunting rifles like .243, .222 & a .308/7.62mm all in his gun room along with the appropriate safes.
My BIL had a fantastic collection of lovingly restored rifles but on his passing, his wife GAVE them to his mates in the local rifle club ... before I, along with his sons/SILs, had a chance to grab one. Not happy. Thousands of $s down the drain & beautiful family heirlooms lost. His hobby over several decades, was to make glorious custom stocks from top quality wood & rework the actions back to mint condition. All reblued of course. He used to shoot in The Queens Shoot & had shot patterns for each rifle.
