Ok so today just keeping away from the flys and wind . So at 11 37 with full batteries I switched on the air con bugger me it didn't go . Silly me didn't turn on the inverter . So now it's 2.20 ano we have had 4 slices of toast 2 raisin 2 white . And 2 coffees 1 2SM 1M . i just looked at the victron and have still got 100% left in the batteries .
The way things are going. Talking to a few blokes.
The Lithium are going to be an expensive. Intermediate, to a cheaper system.
with these new gen Liquid content super high capacity ones in pipeline.
Installer I was talking to said some are even on trial in trucks and private home systems now.
Mainly Installers trialling. To keep eye on temp's etc.
Possibly even cheaper than AGM with much higher capacity.
We'll see hey.
Ya gotta hand it to the spin doctors. One lot claim some amazing figures for the price of lithium batteries, (but I'm yet to get one of those customers through the door) yet claim they can buy AGM batteries that last for 10 yrs for $1 Ah Then we had silicon batteries that held more energy than lithium and were far cheaper..... except they weren't a battery at all, it was actually a form of heat storage and salt already does that real cheap. Now we have some mystery liquid battery that holds more than lithium and is cheaper....... a link to these mystery batteries would be good eh
What ever happened to fuel cells making batteries a thing of the past?????
With lithium ore being mined and processed here in Australia I can't understand why the actual batteries are still made in China or the USA.... I hear Elon Musk might be looking at building a mega battery factory in WA .......

Apparently. The "cleanest" Lithium is US and Japan. Chinese the cheaper product. or was.
90% of the GOOD li ion batts. have Panasonic (Japan) cells in them.
Sanyo. Sony. LG. etc.

Seriously Macka, these companies might be based in other countries but the product is still manufactured in China. Elon Musk is the only one so far that has broken away and started manufacturing his own cells to build his batteries, the others just assemble Chinese manufactured parts.... how does that make them a superior product?
