Given that the powers to be can't stop the many cliches in electronics/radio interference etc I have to agree with Kevin C.
Give me the old hard wire system every time thus leaving the break controller with electronics and easy to replace with cost
if faulty.

Yes I also agree totally.
It seems to me that sometimes we, as a now high tech society are overthinking things that are generally quite simple.

Hi out there, I haven't got a reply to anything but I do have a question. We have just purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee it is fitted with Redarc Tow-Pro Elite trailer brake controller. The question is how does this work compared to the Hayman Reece braking controller?

Grateful for any help.

They are both proportional controllers so their operation is similar. Just don't get tempted to use the TowPro in the timer mode. The following explains the difference between timer and proportional controllers.

These Bluetooth devices are aimed primarily at the caravan or trailer hire business where the towcar may not have a permanent brake controller wired into it. Possibly (If proportional) they will be better than the trailer mounted options and I have to say that Bluetooth has come a long way. I haven't lost a Bluetooth signal on any of my devices for years now.
