Not sure if this topic has already been posted. I travel and camp a lot outside of mobile broadband areas. I'm looking at satellite broadband, any replies on feasibility and advice on setting up would be appreciated.
Not available at a reasonable cost unless you run a flanker. Have an address outside the NBN copper to the node areas and get a Skymuster Satellite set up. Then use the LNB on a portable set up. Much like people who use Foxtel on the go.
I've looked at it and found it to be just way too expensive for the amount of data......................I travel with 2 aerials one is a HI Gain mobile vehicle antenna and the other is a Yagi aerial tuned to the network frequency of my mobile broadband, before heading into a black spot I check on Oz Towers.com.au and see how far away and direction of the nearest tower and sometimes while the phone will show no signal I can pick up enough with an external aerial to get data for my laptop....The Yagi does take a lot of ginning around to get in the exact position ut if set up properly and you happen to be high you can get signal at 30 kms or more, of course location lays a big part.
