Thetford 260 toilet

I am unable to remove the cassette from the toilet the handle is in the closed position but the blade has come adrift anyone know how I can turn the release button, I have pumped the contents out with a bilge pump.

I think if you stick your hand inside the tank, you may be able to find the bottom of the button where it has become detached from the blade. Probably the blade isn't broken, but the frame that supports it has broken where the screws attach to the tank letting the whole thing sag.
Of course all the above depends on your arm being small enough and your fingers long enough to reach. A parts diagram from the Thetford site might help.
The handle might have to go back to the open position to allow you to rotate the button back into place.
Hope this helps, but I'm glad it's not my problem!

Funny isn't it. The mothers do all the nappies etc when the kids are young but seem to lose interest later on.
Good result anyway.

As the blade had come adrift from the turning handle I was advised to pull a bit harder on the cassette and it came out ok, I have managed to put the pieces together but I am buying a new top section.
