Pat Cash had a big rant this morning on talk back " I cant celebrate Australia Day" on 26th January. Australia is not supporting Aboriginies etc etc ect etc. He came back to Australia last week bragging that he coaches Coco van derway?, US tennis player of sorts. After her dummy spit "where's me bananas?"and lack of ability today, perhaps he should learn how to be a coach first and not a devisive wedge toward Australians. By all means have a say about supporting those less fortunate if he could actually come up with some better ideas, rather than a " rant". BUT stop trying to divide the rest of us. that goes for Richard de Natalie(greens person) as well. Go Aussie. cheers Craig

Sometimes celebrities need to speak out because a large number of Australians don't have any real experience with indigenous Australians. Most of us have a very limited knowledge of indigenous Australians and how they are still being treated. Good on him.
I'm similarly ashamed by those who lack the most basic level of empathy for the people who have Australia Day rubbed in their face every year. The date is only a date that has one significance - it is the date on which the First Australians became subject to ongoing abuse, murder, and disadvantage. The disadvantage and abuse continues to this day.
Like the introduction of SSM, nothing bad will come from changing the date.

Had Japan taken control of Australia in WW2 their would be none of the first Australians alive, as one of Japans plans was to exterminate them.
