Old Caravan fix up

Hi all. My name is Peter and my wife is Sharyn. We have just bought a 1974 Coronet 16 foot caravan. Long story short is that we are permanently looking after our 7 year old granddaughter and we want to get her out and about and do some exploring instead of looking at an ipad all day. So now I ....we have a job ahead of us fixing up the van. First up is weather proofing it. Both top vents are missing. The door lock is broken and no keys. Some window winders are broken as are some internal cupboard door locks. I am going to take the gas lines out as I don't like gas with kids involved beside the lines look to be coroded. I will be repainting it later. I will upload some pictures some time. Thanks for having us here Peter and Sharyn

Welcome to the gang Blackroads, enjoy here and out in the playground.

Just a few odd jobs to keep you occupied for a little while but nothing you mention is not doabale. Whatever you do to the van make sure you don't take it over the ATM and other plated weights.

Peter and Sharyn, Welcome to the Grey Nomads. This sub-forum is only for introducing yourselves. The technical members generally do not look at this forum much (I am only coming here as I saw a technical question here in the daily Email Digest.) When you are ready for technical questions I suggest you post them in the "Techies' Corner" where the technical members will see them.

If you would like to receive the Email Digest and see what comes into the forum click on your name up in the top RH corner, click on "Settings" on the LHS and then set up "Email Digest of New Topics." Whilst there you may care to set up other features that may be handy for you.

By the way, your van is too old to have a plate on it with the weights that Doug was talking about. There will be plenty of assistance regarding weights answered for you in Techies Corner.
