This is a NEW fridge and the feed back I got from trying to fix is not very desirable . So I had a go / look at how it works or doesnt !! the hinges had been reversed before I bought as I wanted doors hinged on right . Opening on left ., Since fitting fridge on right corners the doors would open !! Ahh ! Some thought ??? Gravity doesnt help here . A spring ? Pulled biro pen apart cut spring in half . Fitted assembled back on door . So far seems good ., Now I have a pen with no spring !!
There is no way like it was it would phase ADR the way it was . The retailer up in Queensland didnt seem to care ! Other than this catch the fridge / Freezer is working fine ! It is not a cheap fridge ! Over $2k .. 12v compressor type .
AK, you saying it didn't have a spring??? Cause mine did (118Lt model) and looks like the same catch. The only problem I had after I swapped the door was the lug the door pivoted on the top LHS snapped off. I just drilled through the mounting plate and fitted a small M4 bolt as the pivot pin.

Yes no spring . Looked at it for weeks and on travels . The vacuum holds doors shut to a point . But looking at the catch ? The stricker was not being captured when shut . As this way it is up to lock . Opening from other side I assume it would be upside down to this .?? Another thing is the handles are way too small to grab ! The Mrs has trouble opening . Design design !!
With the Striker, I do remember having to bend it down slightly for a better grip. But that might be the difference in single door (mine) and a double door.
Yeah there's a few quirky things with the Vitro, but overall I'm hooked keeps everything ice cold, it's quiet and more space compared an Engel upright and doesn't put a big dent in the batteries overnight. I will say though I removed one of the door shelves so the bottom door shelf could hold 2Lt bottles.
