Had to replace house batteries this week and have upgraded to 3x Amptech 120AH.
Exiting system has Projecta 50-watt ac-dc, 600-watt Projecta Inverter.
300 watts solar on roof with Voltech regulator, 2x external Kickass 300 watt running on TPS 1230 regulator.
What I want to Achieve
Looking at adding Projecta 25-amp dc-dc charger.
Q1:Can I run the 2x external panels through the dc-dc charger and the roof top panels through the internal Voltech.I cant find enough detail on inverter.
Suggestions welcome.

hi Not clear fixed roof 300watt thru on board Voltech rated at ???
spec ?????????????? 2 portable x 300watt ==600w
OR 300watt total 150 each portable run thru 30amp reg
Running 3 x 120 AGM u need at least 30-40-50amp dc/ dc other wise your Agm may not fully recharge
360 amp 50% usable =180ah Divide Ah by charge rate ,, ... 25Ah would take forever if no other inputs...
Does your fixed 300w [approx. 16amps] charge while moving ???
More info needed ..
Hi,
spec ?????????????? 2 portable x 300watt ==600w
On roof is 300 Watt = 300? Charges while moving.
If had say, a 25 amp dc-dc plus power from the rooftop solar while moving would that work? (Sorry about the dumb questions, but that's why I am asking questions.)
When parked would use solar, top up with generator if needed. Will the Projector have inputs for the solar panels as I can't find a pic or diagram that shows this.

Hi
if u run the portables thru a IDC 25 . This unit may clip the out put to only 25amp MAX only . [ above calculation at camp is then incorrect]
600watt =approx. 32 amps + mppt 30%
Tot = 42 amps
Idc25 will potentially clip 17 amps
Be wise to ring projecta and see if that will be ok

Hi Snippy
Sorry , but I do not really understand your terminology,& am therefore reluctant to give any advice
[a]This does not make sense" Projecta 50-watt ac-dc, 600-watt Projecta Inverter."
You cannot have an inverter with a 50W ac input & 600 Watt output
Suggest it would be much better if you gave the Model number of that device.,so we can determine exactly what it is
An Inverter or a DC/DC charger or ?????
Why do you want to fit a DC/Dc charger?
Why do you want to put any of the panels through that?

Hi Oldtrack
[a]This does not make sense" Projecta 50-watt ac-dc,(Note the comma separtes the 2 items) plus a 600-watt Projecta Inverter."
According to information from Projecta brochure the dc-dc charger can be used for input from external solar, that is why I would want to do that"

So your Description " Projecta 50-watt ac-dc" Was incorrect ,You did mean a DC/Dc Charger Where did the WATT come from?
As I said ,If you cannot get the description correct ,best quote the brand & model Number
So now that we know you have a 50A Dc/Dc charger
Why do you want to put the panels through a Dc Dc charger??
& you wish to add another 25A Dc> Dc charger
What is the current rating of your alternator , it could need to be 100A continious to supply those combined DC/Dc chargers @ full capacity[ depending on how adequate [sized] the 12v supply cables from the alternator to their input terminals is
You would have a better overall results leaving the panels on their own regulator.

If you read the responses from from SWAMP it will explain all the the query has been answered, but thanks for your input.
Yes
I did not say "I have never said 50 amp ac-dc, THERE IS a comma/period in there as I pointed out,
1As it is obvious you are looking for a fight please do NOT respond further

Not looking for a fight, just trying to help you out with understanding the FACTS, but this is what you posted' "Projecta 50-watt ac-dc,"
The correct description is simply "Projecta50 DC/DC charger "
If my posts do not assist you ,just don't bother to read them, but they may help others understand
[a]This does not make sense" Projecta 50-watt ac-dc, 600-watt Projecta Inverter." These ARE SEPERATE ITEMS.
If others cab understand and give helpful advice why can't you. Maybe you just don't want to. I also said in the beginning, that I have limited knowlege which is why I came to this forum for assistance.
I have no further interest in your responses.
