Yes alert is the best thought i was doing karate and the instructor was showing knife fighting a small girl knocked the knife from his hand with know instructions so dosent matter how good you are some one could take your wepon and use it on you stay alert and safe out there :)

After travelling this country all my life as a nomad, I have never had a problem, the closest I came was a goanna that did not want his picture taken.ALso a black snake who I chased to get his pic. Shades of the papp in the bush.
They are dangerous thats for sure.
Humans on the road tend to be caring bodies. The Aussie Male nomad cant help himself in wanting to take care of the female nomad he meets. They are just not PC so do not be concerned about violence, rather get used to the fact that older aussie men are gentlemen in disguise. and have manners.
Of course I do realis e that these days it is an insult for a man to open a door for a woman, but life on the road ignores the modern trend to be pc Thank God.
I put .y 2 young boys into TAI KWON DO at ages 11-13..& also watch slot..Their repetitive teachings are brilliant with special moves of Self Defence & to Disarm a weapon carrier..It's intended not to be hurt yourself & little injury to a attacker..VERY SMART ARTS,girls
Agree with you mike, as a Licensed "Firearm" holder, please lets call them "Sporting Firearms" "Weapons" are for Military, Police & Crim's !! & yes, I do carry both Shotgun & handgun when traveling, because i always intend to visit a range of some description, purely for sporting clays. Just my p
