Start from the rear and work your way forward. there are bolts in the floor of the arm rest section of the console, when you take them out you will find it interlocks with the next section which is were the gear shift is . bit hard to put in words BUT as i said start from the back and work forward.

I wondered if you could get at it from the side panel, about where the drivers knee is, a push and a shove and it may come off. However if outlaw40 knows his stuff follow his advise.
Why not buy an E-manual on eBay . Around $10 or so for the full gambit. Might be worth having a look- Got two of them, not much good, free if any pm's me. You have to donate to the Good Friday appeal though. cheers Craig
Yes Iana depends where you have to get to but if op just wants to get a hand in there is a screw bottom front of console undo that and the side of console will flex enough to get your hand in a bit. most of the screws holding the BT50 together in that area are the security type . Note there is a plastic cover over the screw i mention, it levers off from the top with a small flat blade screwdriver. if your are a circus contortionist that will help a lot .
