I have mentioned before that I'm not into the facebook or the twitter thing. Don't have an I phone or an I pad. Just a small flip phone.
I recently wrote in G/N that I needed a simple 12 volt car radio. I had "trawled" local car wreckers with no results.
The results from G/N's was marvellous. I received a really neat little car radio from "Nomad". It fits in the dash of my little motorhome, and works a treat. Thanks Nomad.
My next problem was that my old PC "died". Keeping in mind that I know as much about computers as I do about flying a helicopter. Fortunately, my wonderful partner, Jennifer, knows a lot about computers.
She confirmed the "death" of my PC. I visited a few PC sales people, who wanted enormous amounts of money from me to buy a new PC.
Not being able to afford a new PC, I asked on G/N. Within a short time, a second hand computer arrived from Victoria.
Me and the machine are just getting to know each other. Thank you, Neil !!
Finally, a couple of G/N people have asked me to e mail them copies of my books. "When CO-ORD was King". (extended version) "The Coach Crew"
If you haven't received them, please advise me. I'm still getting used to this flash PC.
For 20 years I worked with a devout Baptist guy. His wife didn't work, they had three kids & he road a pushbike to work every day. He also grew his own vegies & fruit.
His philosophy was ''the Lord will provide''. Your ''ask & you will receive'' attitude obviously works well.
We're not on Facebook or Twitter either, in fact I don't have a mobile phone either. If someone wants to give me one I might use it though.

I had a similar view about facebook and mobile phone usage, I never bothered with it until I went to Oman. It would have cost me $3:80 a minute to call Australia and both ends had to pay so I set up a facebook messenger account and made video calls to my wife and family everyday by just using data. The only problem is that the Omani government blocks the social networking sites trying to force people to use the local Omani telcos so I paid $90 for a 6 month VPN subscibtion (apparently illegal there) so that they wouldn,t know where the call was coming from. Facebook is also a great way to send your photos I dont know about twitter because I have no idea how it works so I have never bothered with it. In my opinion just talking rubbish for hours a day on facebook is really a waste of peoples time but when it,s your only means of communication I guess it comes into it,s own.
