I would if family n we housesat for them. To someone we do not know - no.
saw a hire caravan being driven into a service station which had pot holes. Speeding, driving into the potholes and a total disregard about caring for the van.
Just after we bought our van we received a call from family asking if we would "lend" them the van to attend an outback concert event...
NO WAY we replied as we had not even taken it for a spin to check things out.
They cracked the ****.s for a few weeks after that.
Possibly lend it to family or friends that I have known for quite a while. But not to someone I didn't know.
Might just rent it to someone I knew quite well, but likely to be only those I'd lend it to, and lend rather than rent!
Saw one today an ELDDIS from Luxury Caravan Hire - No, I don't have any connection to them - and discussed with +1 on the way home and we came to the conclusion above.

It would probably not be very economical to rent a RV out, to someone who is going to take it on the road, for a long distance
Think of how many times we have cheaply repaired something while travelling
If we are not there to repair or supervise that repair, it may be a bit costly
Many years ago, you could buy a caravan, and liason with a caravan park, to hire it out for you, on their terms
We do not rent our house out when travelling, and see no reason to rent our motorhome out, while not travelling
There is no particular reason for this, it is just how it is
Interesting topic. One of my sons was married on 17th March and he and his new bride borrowed "my Rhonda" for their honeymoon. They went from Perth up to Kalbarri, Coral Bay and then Karijini. Away 2 weeks. My daughter in laws mothers name is Rhonda so they found that amusing. He is giving it a full service and doing a couple of jobs on it for me before returning it to me next weekend.
They enjoyed their trip (of course they would it was their honeymoon after all!). So much so that my son has been given permission to build a camper. Funny how things change. Now that they are married camping in tents is now so yesterday!
I was happy to lend it out in the circumstances but I wouldn't make a habit of it and next year I will be on the road fulltime so wont be an option going forward.

Having a family member borrowing it, is slightly different than renting it out, Ray
My family do not have to ask me to loan them anything, they know that what is mine, is also theirs
Even though there has only been 21 replies from over 450 views I would assume that the members that replied would be a good cross cut of caravanners. Which for me makes me wonder how successful is the business in the link.
If renting to someone who wishes to tow it then as some have stated, the risk is high. There would be a cost in money and time to set up the tow vehicle.
If delivering to a caravan park for on site rental then there is still a cost in the set up and retreival and the park would want their cut. This would also be competing with the park with their own on site vans and cabins.
Use on private property would probably work but even that would have its limitations.
If I were even considering such a holiday I would just hire a motor home as opposed to a caravan if only for the simplicity of the entire operation.
Of course there would be some owners that would participate if they werent using the van and had little money invested in it but from the consumer point of view it would be just more convenient to find suitable alternative accomodation.
