Mobile signal boosters??

A lot of adverts for these keep popping up. Are they legal and used at all?

Plenty out there for sale and Telstra sell their own version.

I do know you can get 24volt versions for trucks at around the $1600 mark too.

This is a link to one reseller.

They claim they are legal.

Definitely illegal AP we have one of the telstra ones at home and apart from being very exspencive ( about $1000) you have to jump through hoops to get one and then officially only to be used at your home address.

From what I've read they can cause mayhem with normal mobile reception in certain areas causing dropouts to other mobile users. I think they are in the same boat as generators.

Good Luck.

They are not boosters, I have a Telstra registered Cel-Fi Go smart signal repeater RV Pack fitted to my vehicle with a Blackhawk Omni Trucker Edge Antenna (BH-OM-202TW) 6dBi/8dBi gain.

Before you can purchase the kit, you must register with Telstra your license number or ABN number.

The cost supplied & installed is approx $1200.00

visit the www.cel-fi.com.au website for additional information.

To monitor the Cel-Fi operation, you can download the "wave app".

these are available from Powertec 0755770500

Yes, it is illegal to operate a signal booster, if found big fines apply.

Hope this clarifies the situation.

On ebay for $939. Wait for an ebay sale to get it for less (like today there's a 10% off with code PAYBACK). Still very expensive. I wonder if they are the only option so charging through the nose?
