I was quite cross today. Parked up with door open and two dogs came along and tried to come in. Of course, my dog went ape. Along come the owners and when I told them to put their dogs on leashes and keep them under control, they were not particularly polite.
Then once again, my dog was outside on lead and started to carry on, another dog not on a leash. I had to rush outside and rescue her.
Whilst, their owners say they are placid, and I have no doubt some are, a little consideration would be helpful.
I know how you feel. Our dog ( kelpie cross ) is always on a lead when away in the van, but I find I have to keep watch for other dogs running loose. In most cases they are little white fluff balls and their owners say, "oh, they won't hurt your dog."
Wrong, they run up to him yapping away as if to attack and my dog gets very angry. Not a happy situation.
tired of hearing "He just wants to say hello"................"She wont bite" ......... "They love to run" ..............."They never wander away"
So you hear "I stood in that dog poo" ...."Those people were so rude to my dog"......."Child attacked by dog"
....And then you hear "My dog got bitten by a snake"............My dog got attacked by another dog".................." My dog ate a bait"............. ".......and it cost heaps at the vet"
My thought is ...dont like to see the animal in pain, but who's fault is it really?
Unfortunately a lot simply refuse to follow the rules.
New laws recently introduced in SA.
"Pet owners who fail to stop to help after their animal is involved in a dog attack would be slapped with a hefty fine under new laws proposed by the South Australian Government."

I should print that and post in the letterbox of the a***hole at the end of my street. He has a Border Collie which sadly never gets any exercise except when old mate the a***hole lets it out into the street and if I happen to walking past with my girls the Collie goes straight into attack mode. He never walks the Collie and I'm sure with some proper care and exercise it would be a different dog altogether. Old mate must be perplexed as to why I won't even acknowledge him when he drives past my home. Fortunately for him I have not yet had to take my girls to the vet as I manage to step in and stop his dog.

My girls are Misha, Maddy, Morgan and Muffin. RIP Jen, my princess.
RIP Molly, our dear girl who crossed the Rainbow Bridge 24/10/2016. A loyal and faithful companion.
I just finished a nice walking stick ,not for myself but to knock the daylight out of the Mongrel who attackes my dog. It is sad that it had to come that way , but the Councel here gives a **** about the rules they came up with. Our Doughter works for a vet ,every week they have to stitch a few dogs and cats back together . Walking in the parks where we live is also disgusting , dog poop all over the park , I better stop my blood pressure goes up, cheers
I don't take my dog for walks any more when I am at home. Too many off leash dogs around. BIL's dog was torn to pieces last year going on a walk on a lead. Two bull terriers attacked him.
Anyway, Molly doesn't need walks for exercise she is so small she needs to take a packed lunch just to get as far as the back fence.
Know the feeling. I was walking in an uneven paddock carrying a hamburger. i was not particularly steady on my feet that day. Out of nowhere came a juvenile dalmation Up to my waist, circling me n jumping up for the hamburger. Nearly knocked me flying. The owner, blazae as ever, says, he's just being friendly n called him. Yeh well, she heard some expletives come out of my mouth.
I love a chat with a responsible dog owner n friendly dog n give dog a pat n a chat when on a lead. At happy hours enjoy a dog on my lap. They usually go to sleep or just sit so quiet. Animals love me Even if i sometimes show no interest. Its the irresponsible few owners i cannot stand.
