Vans and tugs are a personal choice thing so will not confuse you any further However, that said, make sure you check weights listed on compliance plate/s and they are within your tugs limits, combined weights are very important as well. Don't forget to include both of you and any fur babies in the calculations. Don't believe everything the salesmen tell you as they are there to sell only.

I thought I had it all sorted when ordering my aluminium teepee build but found out too late that the teepee was 100kg over the ATM listed. Took a lot of sorting out and culling to now be under the ATM. So do it now as it is much easier now than later. In my case the builder of the teepee AND the dealer were gone so was on my own. All good now though and I am enjoying my aluminium teepee in the playground full time.

The choice of vans is bewildering, especially with the decision of new or second hand. Like Dougwe I don't like to make suggestions as they are such a personal item. Make yourselves a list of where you'd like to go with the van, is off road essential or just 'nice'. Sometimes it can be easier to park-up the van and then day trip in the rougher terrain. Weights are essential to be correct so worthwhile checking everything in that area - and insist on a weighbridge ticket to 'prove' the weights. Aim for 300kg+spare weight to allow for clothes, food and water and all the other essential gear.
