Hi Dave

A bit of a story would be good.

Who makes Legacy caravans?

The Cruiser and van have both had a bit of dirt on them.

Radar, this was taken opposite our last house on the Gold Coast, just before we sold it. The van now sits on our block in Northern NSW when we arent travelling and home is a 29 ft Regal RSV. We are currently at Thorneside in Brisbane but hoping to get away about the third week of July for a few weeks to scratch in the dirt.

The Legacy van has done trips to Atherton, Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Emerald (Qld) Moree and Glen Innes. We found it a bit young for everyday living as its 20ft 6 inside while the Regal in a full 29 ft inside.

This is the Regal.  Sorry the pic is on its side.  It came directly from my IPad with no editing.

Also, the Cruiser can tow the Regal, so we will probably sell the Legacy (2013 model) sometime soon after I get the Regal registered in Qld. It previously had Victorian rego on it but that expired. I only have to get the squeaky knees working and get it to DTMR for measurement and submission of application.

Hi Bill,

It tares in at 3 tonnes and ATM is 3.5 tonnes. The Cruisers kerb weight is 2580 and Maximum GCM is 6680 so I have a little bit of load latitude with the Cruiser - like 600 kg. Subtract 90 for me, and I can legally put 510 kg into the Cruiser. Dont need to though, as the Wife also has her Rav and we communicate by UHF as necessary when travelling.

Since I drive like Miss Daisy, it means my wife doesnt have to suffer my driving and sleep most of the trip!

Cheers

Dave

Thanks Dave, I thought it may have been heavier than that.

Don't forget that the tow ball weight becomes part of the Cruiser's overall weight (GVM)

Thanks Bill, yes, I was aware of that, having worked for a couple of years in vehicle registrations in DTMR in a former life, before I saw the light and got a real job!
Cheers

Ball weight of the Regal is 270 kg. So I can still put 240 kg into the Cruiser before I become overloaded - which I dont plan to do.
