Tristar 60

Apologys  in advance if this has already been covered and my lack of knowledge re solar. I have a tri star 60a pwm controller which hasnt got the the monitor module. I have installed a victron bmv 700 and I am very pleased with it. Do I need to install the add on monitor to the Tristar side of the system to properly monitor solar? Every thing appears to be working as it should but All I have go on from the Tristar are a few led lights.

About all it will tell you in addition to the information already given by the Victron BMV is actual solar input rather than how much excess input is flowing into the battery over and about what the system is using instantly.
