Hi guys hope all well. A question i have a 70lt water tank on top of tradie trailer. It has a A 2.6 ft poly pipe and **** and hose fitting for my out let to fill by hose and to fill kettle etc, tthe pipe comes down the back of trailer ( tent camping) (above this i have the solar panal on the ladder rack) now i would like to use a 12v pump to fill when i dont have hose available. Fill out of bucket container etc.
This would be a lot easer than trying to conecting to top filler point a bit hard to get to.
Its not a very high tank same as ones under caravans it has a small breather hole.
So back to question a pump that will pump up that tube and fill tank from bottom and if so any idea on size of pump. Please lo arguments and yes i take my garbage home jk lol
Hi rob , we just use a small 12v pump ( cheapie ) , pumps about 5 litres per minute ....does a great job for its size , think it was about $25 when we bought our water bladder .... think they're on the bay for around the same price
l added 5m of leftover 6mm and an Anderson plug to it

I use a similar 12v pump with an anderson plug with switch, onto my solar controller (3rd connection on right). That is how I fill our tanks when free camping! Works very well.
I bought a 12v submersible bilge pump from BCF and added fittings so I could use it to fill my tanks. I just drop it in a bucket under a tap and plug it into the anderson plug.

I bought a small submersible 12v pump from AliExpress (google "DC 12V 5M Pumping Head Mini Submersible Motor Brush Water Pump for Garden Fountain Aquarium"). I use this to top up my caravan tank from the 20 litre container in my tug. Pumps at 10 litres/minute.
Thanks guys do you think these pumps will fill from the bottom of tank against the weight of water thoe its not very high ?
Look up the technical spec. for the pumps to see what "Head" they can pump to but I think they'll be OK. I use a $25 BCF bilge pump (no longer sold by BCF) for my shower which is about 7' off the ground and it provides more than enough pressure/flow for that.

The small pump I have has no problem pumping from a container on the ground. The tech specs state the pump is capable of providing a 5 metre head - far higher than I require. I power mine off the 12v cigarette socket in the back of my tug - I did have to extend the power lead a couple of metres before wiring up the plug.
Hi balded is your a submersable ? Yes for what i want im prob over thinking it just sick of getting it wrong all the time and forking out cash i have enough little things i need and they all add up like i need a tv arial i know i need a decent one bu not overboard with cash im on a disability pension you look at all the caravans and there are such a wide range and if you ask everu opinion is oposite even the same arial.
I have been at Merbine common over 3 months have gad so many teething troubles just changed the petrol pump today so im here for another 3 weeks lol im growing roots
RobC:
In my first post you will see that the pump I referred to is submersible. I bought it online from China, I forget exactly which shop, but it was probably one of the Ali Express shops that offered free shipping to NZ. The cost was <$10 US. It took about 3 weeks to arrive. The pump is thin enough to fit down through opening in the top of one of those square 20 litre water containers that most plastic shops sell. A minor problem is that pump tends to want to float on its side. Easily fixed - I just zip tied a 50cm stick to the pump body to keep the pump vertical in the water container and thus the pump inlet on the bottom of the container.
