I can see the moons around Jupiter with 18 X 50 binoculars but leave them at home as I don't have enough room.
My ancient Canon 5D2 does a reasonable job of night skies. Was fortunate enough to be able to take this shot of Venus. I won't be around for next time!
Nice pic, Whenarewethere. I use Heavens Above mainly and I don't travel with the telescope. It's too awkward to transport safely. But if you are interested, telescopes with GPS, digital star maps and other electronic aids are cheaper than ever and actually make a better starting point than the ultracheap basic scopes.
