Good News

G'day All,

SWMBO has Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and in 2017 went through Chemo and maintenance programs.

They worked quite well and the oncologist was quite pleased with the result. Then in October 2018 she found a lump in her cheek

and had it checked out by the oncologist. He wasn't sure what it was so off to ENT specialist who bunged her off for MRI's

and various other tests. Outcome, just before Christmas was sent off for a biopsy (fine needle in the cheek). On 4 Jan received a call from the specialist

to advise that the lump is benign. So great news, still have to see the oncologist in Feb to see if we can go on the road again and for how long.

Pressure is off and planning begins.smilesmilebiggrin

Have just seen this post Peterpan, good news for Hilary, so pleased for her.
Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma is the same as I had 2016. Chemo and Radiation all of that year. 2017 I had 3 monthly pet scans and visit to my oncologist then 2018 6monthly with blood tests, which is continuing through 2019.
Can I ask where Hilary had the NHL, mine was in my abdomen. I hope Hilary is feeling a lot better now, not sure when you are supposed to get back to 100%, I know I'm nowhere near it.
All the best Hilary.

G'Day HW,

Hilary's first lump was in the top of the thigh, and they thought radiation would be the way to go. Then they did a PET scan

and found lots of spots everywhere, so it was off to the Chemo program. This was quite efffective and we went onto watch and wait

with visits to the oncologist monthly and then 3 monthly. The oncologist was very happy with her progress we got 6 months freedom.

So we did an outback trip. Them Hil found a lump in her cheek,so back to the oncologist who was a little concerned and wasn't sure of

what it was. So off to a ENT specialist and we did the ultra sound and xray things then finally a needle biopsy, which revealed that it wasn't

malignant. Yay!!!! So it's back to the oncologist in Feb and the ENT in March. We are hoping to get away in early June and head to Rocky

to see the kids then wend our way to Sapphire and meet up with friends there.  Like you, Hil is not really 100% and struggles at times. Our

motto is "There Are No Bad Days."

Sorry this a bit long winded, but writing this down brought to mind what an "interesting " time we have been through over the last few years.

Thanks for your concern,

With a bit of luck we might catch up on the road again.

Safe Travels.

I'm hoping to get back to Sapphire after my next lot of tests at the end of March. All going well I should be there some time in April.
My treatment is through the Royal Brisbane and oncologist is Dr Steven Lane.
I'm seeing my home doctor here in Echuca and having a few tests over the next few weeks, hopefully that will be all clear also.

HW, we hope that your tests will give you good results, and you will be able to not only get back

to Sapphire but be able to feel 100% in yourself.
