our pump hammers away like woody woodpecker , been doing some reading up for a fix , one was to install a bypass back to the tanks , well I have run three taps simitaneously and it still happens . Another suggestion was to get a smaller capac pump thet will be a last alternative any other ideas ?

Hi mezza
Try reading in the search section.
I wrote "water pump noise".
This will bring previous post about water pump noice, I posted a photo of what I did and it worked. The pump is not silent but a lot quieter.
what about a water pump accumulator tank work for us and pump doesn't cycle as much
Depends on the pump. Using an accumulator on some is quite counter productive. I prefer those that don't need one.
Pump mounting and noise transmission along the hoses needs proper attention to alleviate noise. Start by removing the mounting screws completely and hanging it from a couple of zip ties.

Good advice,, soon see where problem is

Why is it so? Professor Julius Sumner Miller, a profound influence on my life, who explained science to us on TV in the 60's.
I have successfully solved the noise of my woodpecker pump. I bought the caravan new with a Flojet pump, model R3526144 mounted vertically in a cupboard under the fridge. The water pipes came through the floor up the side of the pump and entered the pump through right angle bends. The pump was mounted on a vertical board held in place by two brackets mounted on the floor. As I thought the pump was faulty I bought a new Shurflo model 4009-101-A87 and fitted it. There was very little improvement in noise. I then came across a Seaflo pump model 33/42/43 at a show that was demonstrating how quiet their pumps were, so I purchased it and installed it in my caravan and it was still noisy.
After having researched what other customers claimed they had done to quieten their pumps I removed my pump and vertical brackets. I bought a carpet tile from Bunnings and cut it to fit on the base of the cupboard with the two water pipes coming up through the carpet. I then placed a 25mm foam rubber slab under the pump on top of the carpet and screwed it down with 4 65mm coach screws into the floor with the pump now mounted horizontally. Next I got a meter of 12mm ID soft clear plastic tube which I used to connect from the vertical water pipes looping around 270 degrees direct into the pump. I used S/S hose clips to clamp the plastic tubes to the existing pipes and the water pump.
The noise has completely disappeared. With the cupboard door on the pump closed it is impossible to hear the pump running over the noise of the water coming out the tap at any volume fast or slow. There was probably nothing wrong with the first two pumps. Maybe the rubber slab I placed under the pump may not have been necessary. It was all to do with the way the caravan manufacture had mounted it. My wife could not stand the noise as it was so loud.
