We take our Border Collie (my avatar pic) to an aged care facility to cheer some of the elderly up. The first time we took him there was a group of about 20 in a circle preparing for some activities, I took him into the circle and like he knew exactly what to do sat down directly in front of the first person close enough for them to pat him, I thought this was a fluke, I was proved wrong, he did it to each person in that circle bar one, she was a lady of 102 who could not reach as she was semi laying in a mobility chair. I led him out of the circle to leave and he pulled me toward the old lady and sat down right beside her so close that she to was able place her hand on his head, he stayed with her the longest. My wife and daughter, who is a supervisor there, stood shaking their heads in disbelief. The smiles he puts on these people faces is so heart warming and its something for them to look forward to. I recommend others who have the time and an appropriate dog give it a try.
