Option C, as close as practicable to the battery being charged, so probably on a wall near the place where you typically charge the battery.
Gday...
Thanks for the response Jonathan. However, those andersen plugs will hang in the air and be used to connect, via individual cables, to the respective battery.
I am aware that it is always best to have the solar regulator close to the battery being charged ... but the motorcycle and vehicle will not be close enough.
Are you suggesting that it would be best to have a solar regulator on each of the cables connected to the andersen plugs hanging down - one for the motorcycle and one for the vehicle - and none in the roof before the andersen plugs?
[EDIT: the batteries will remain in the motorcycle and vehicle and the solar power will be used to 'trickle' charge to maintain battery charge as both vehicles are used infrequently]
cheers - John

Ive done similar to what you are doing for a vehicle & Caravan in the shed. Use a regulator at each battery & cable going to the hanging Anderson plugs. Both come off one 40W solar panel & work fine batterys always fully charged.
If you install 2 separate 5W solar panels of appropriate voltage you could feed them directly to the respective batteries without solar regulators at all.
Cheap at half the price:)
Cheers,
Peter
