Pap diesel heater flame out

We have installed a 3kw diesel heater in our fan was working fine. After being not used for several months having trouble getting it to fire up and when it does blows copious amounts of white smoke and the throws e8 error code which is flame out. Have replaced the fuel filter and the pump will prime but then it either does not fire or blow smoke and then flames out. Would appreciate some help

Cheers

Jenny

Is there any diesel leaking underneath the heater/van. Why I ask is that some heaters have Fuel line joiners made of rubber than can deteriorate with fuel, ours leaked at the heater joint under the van at the fuel line/Rubber Joiner/Heater tube. Replaced joiner and all good.

Dirty fuel, even if you don't use your heater, you should still run it every month.

That happened to ours, but I had fitted a rubber plug to the exhaust outlet, and forgotten to remove it before starting up. I would suggest you check the exhaust for obstructions, somebody may have made their home up the hose!

Hey Jenny

My unit is now doing this and wont start. We see bucketloads of smoke but no heat then it stops after about 2 minutes of trying to start. Have you found the fault?

Always worth checking that you are getting full voltage at the heater, especially during the startup sequence. Can also try kero on full fireto give it a decoke

Yes found the problem. There was not enough power to the glow plug once my hubby wire straight to battery all good. Also had dirty fuel clean out the tank and now also run a percentage of kerosene and has been working great ever since. Also painted the plastic tank black but have since changed to a metal tank
