A "fake" scam.

I was recently getting quite a few SMS from a mobile claiming they were Telstra, Telstra asking me to reply to my email regarding a new mobile phone application that was incomplete. Ignored them as I thought it was the start of a scam. Then when one actually had TELSTRA as the sender, I followed up. Telstra had recorded my mobile against a new application (two digits transposed). So I got lots of SMS about my application and eventually an email asking me to confirm my "new" email address via a link that was not in the email.

I filled out an online query which said it may take several days to reply. Got a nice reply from Telstra. The reply came back within minutes. Just entering my number must have raised a flag immediately. I'm hoping someone got a little tap on the wrist.
