Only recently though but works great in my 24" LCD TV. I connect through my phone. You download the Netflix App and follow instruction of the Chrome cast plug in.
Make sure you have good data though as uses heaps. I have recently been GIVEN 30 extra GB from Telstra for as long as stay on the plan I am on. I now have 65gb. I wait fro the first week of the billing cycle then start carefully watching Netflix shows.
I love Netflix. It's only $10 a month too.
I can watch Netflix on my phone, laptop and TV via Chrome Cast.

If you want to download for later viewing rather than stream content, then a mobile device provides more options but both work. There are ways to use previous versions of chromecast to cast local media without internet, just google "chromecast without internet". I'm not sure about the newest version. Android phones allow screen mirroring (I can't recall the latest terminology) and this overcomes some streaming app issues.
Its easier to buy an HDMI cable with a Lightning jack if you have an Apple device. Thats what I use anyway as the Chrome Cast device uses some down load to work
Agree go the adaptor cable to hdmi . netflix content can also be downloaded to your phone to view at a later time if you have more data allowance at home rather the using up your mobile data
Re ( netflix content can also be downloaded to your phone to view at a later time if you have more data allowance at home rather the using up your mobile data)
Have not done this, but was told that a Netflix movie download is only viewable for a certain time after the download. From memory 4 weeks.
Cables are an easier solution in many ways and will work with most mobile devices and higher featured laptops but a cast process allows you to use your device as remote plus control audio output from much further away.

Expired Netflix download can be renewed with a short internet connection and requires only a few bytes of data. The viewing licence is renewed rather than a complete content download. In fact, downloaded content needs to be monitored or you may run out of storage
Netflix downloaded content ages according to any copyright licence agreement Netflix and the content owner and this can be variable. Annoyingly, progressive downloads of episodes in a series can sometimes expire all episodes simultaneously (probably also depends on copyright).
I'm unsure about Stan or other streaming services that allow downloads but they probably similar. Stan is one service that only permits downloads to mobile devices btw.
