My caravan toilet, a Thetford C2, worked perfectly when I parked the caravan a few months ago. It now will open the valve but it will not flush. I have checked the flush tank is full, the main tank is empty, the fuse is good and the switch has not been changed. Apart from not using it, is there anything else I should check before I give up and take it to a caravan repair place? Any help appreciated.
More than likely seized pump, can buy them on eBay for
$10>15 each. It sits just below the toilet roll holder which
just pulls up and is held in by one screw.
You can prise the bottom of the pump and with pliers rotate
the shaft back and forwards to free it up as most times it's a
build up of calcium. The bottom should push back on.
This is a bushfix to get you out of trouble
while waiting for a new pump, I know it works as have done
it a few times
Got the toilet roll holder out and pulled at the pump but unable to remove the base or free anything up. I'm not confident to use force so I'll let a professional look at it. I'll let you know how that goes.
Thanks very much for your advice. It is very much appreciated.
Sorry to take so long to get back with the results. Darjak you were right. The immersible pump had frozen. It has been replaced and is now working perfectly. Thanks once again for the advice.
