Sprinter heater temperature control coolant valve.

Hi. My sprinter 413 2001 model has a heater problem. Does anyone know where the heater coolant control valve is located. Is it on the firewall under the bonnet or ,hopefully not, under the dash. I have had a look under the bonnet. The valve is not obvious there under the bonnet. but it could be hidden right on the firewall out of site. ( it is difficult to see in that area)  The valve is operated by cable. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Cheers,

Dennis

I don't know anything about a Sprinter, but most modern car heater systems do not have a control valve. The coolant flows through the heater core all the time, and a flap diverts air either around the core (cold air) or through it (hot air). If you are having problems, the control link to the flap may have fallen off or may be jammed.

Hi Dennissmile

I will see where mine is. Could I suggest there is a forum for Sprinter owners that is very useful ; https://sprinter-source.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=91

Make sure you are on the section for   Australia, New Zealand, and Asia Pacific,

Hi Dennis smile

Are you sure it is the heater valve. The usual problem is the fan speed controller resistors. They are easily checked and fixed too not quite so easily. Send me a PM (private message) on either forum if you would like to ask me more !biggrin
