I want to increase atm on my jayco starcraft outback van and would like advice on course of action I need to take.
Do I load Van and then get it weighed?
Rustydog, one would assume from your question that you have already loaded the van and now know, that when fully loaded, the weight exceeds the stamped ATM rating of your van?
If so then one needs to understand if, by selective loading, one can reduce the van's loaded weight to be below the rated ATM. If that is not possible, then one needs to approach a qualified engineer who will determine the maximum increase the chassis/axles/wheels/tyres etc will tolerate.
My understanding is that Jayco's policy is to not upgrade the stamped ATM on the compliance plate of their vans.
[EDIT: or as Ali El-Aziz Mohamed Gundawiathan suggests, contact Colin Young of the Caravan Council ]

Hi rustydog,
Being a Jayco - check the axle details especially the weight that the wheels & tyres can carry. The wheel detail is on the back of one of the spokes - eg mine show 15JJ (wheel size & offset) & 1000Kg. The tyres were rated to 950Kg!! ATM = 1950Kg.
For me to upgrade, I'll have to change the three ($340 each) wheels to start with. A new van might be on the cards!

2 tyres at 950kg =1950kg. As long as the springs are rated the same, this will be the GTM. Now add the ball weight that suits your towbar and you will get what may be your new ATM. Maybe 1950kg plus 200/250kg = 2150/2200kg
Not trying to be rude but when I went to school 2x 950 only equaled 1900
